Day 1: Christchurch, Ashburton
On arrival in Christchurch you’ll be met by at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Ashburton, nestled in the Canterbury Plains.

Day 2: Ashburton, Fox Glacier
Today, perhaps travel part of the way on the TranzAlpine Train from Darfield to Greymouth (own expense, must be pre-booked). Or enjoy the scenic drive through the Southern Alps to Westland National Park, then travel along the west coast and view of Franz Josef Glacier.

Day 3: Fox Glacier, Queenstown
Absorb the spectacular scenery as you cross the Southern Alps and travel through Haast Pass, passing tranquil lakes en route to Queenstown.

Day 4: Queenstown at Leisure
Relax at your hotel or ask your Tour Director for ideas to explore Queenstown and its surrounds.
Day 5: Queenstown, Fiordland National Park, Te Anau
Skirt the Remarkables mountain range, tracing the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Fiordland National Park. Then enjoy one of the world’s best alpine drives along Milford Road to Milford Sound. Cruise along the full length of this fiord, then continue by coach to the town of Te Anau, set on the edge of Lake Te Anau and boasting a spectacular mountainous backdrop.

Day 6: Te Anau, Dunedin
Travel through the picturesque hills of Southland to Dunedin where you’ll enjoy a city tour. Later, head to nearby Larnach Castle. Tonight, you’ll be treated to an entertaining Scottish-themed evening. Sample the traditional Scottish dish, haggis, and learn all about its history.

Day 7: Mt Cook, Lake Ohau
Admire the snow-capped mountains of Mt Cook National Park, Australasia’s highest range, then journey along the east coast and see the Moeraki Boulders. See some of the country’s best 19th-century architecture in Oamaru. Tonight in Lake Ohau, enjoy a High Country dinner.

Day 8: Lake Tekapo, Depart Christchurch
En route to Christchurch stop at the beautiful Lake Tekapo and visit the tiny Church of the Good Shepherd. Your New Zealand tour concludes on arrival at Christchurch airport.
