Highlights & Inclusions
Kauri Cliffs consists of eleven outlying guest cottages, each with two guest suites providing twenty-two accommodation units at Kauri Cliffs. Every suite offers its own private porch, comfortable bedroom with sitting area and open fireplace, walk-in his and hers wardrobes and a bathroom with a shower, bathtub and his and hers vanities. The cottages are nestled on the edge of a native forest overlooking the ocean and golf course.
The eleven cottages comprise 16 Deluxe units (approximately 900 sq ft) and 6 standard units (approximately 840 sq ft) which are nestled on the edge of native bush looking east from private verandas across the golf course and the Pacific Ocean. They are in a staggered row to the north of the main lodge building along a meandering tree studded path.
The main bedroom features an open gas fireplace, superior mini-bar, large armoire with a TV, DVD player, CD player, super-king bed (able to be split into 2 super-singles), rattan armchairs, writing desk and ottomans.
Thisn is the bit I like!! The ‘Security’ rooms
There are two “security” rooms in addition to the 22 Deluxe and Standard suites. Featuring two single beds, ensuite bathroom and wardrobe, these rooms are used predominantly for accompanying security, drivers, minders or children.
The Owner's Cottage
A large (4,200 square foot) two-suite house is positioned with the main lounge and two bedrooms overlooking the ocean and golf course towards the Bay of Islands.
The house has a private infinity swimming pool and hot tub and easy access to all lodge amenities. There is an outdoor barbecue and cooking facilities for the chef if private in-house dining is preferred.
There are open fireplaces in the bedrooms and the main lounge. There are two bathrooms and a powder room in the house.
A small office can be converted into a third bedroom ideal for children or a nanny.
The main lodge, which overlooks the golf course and the Pacific Ocean, consists of a spacious beamed living room, meeting room, card room, and small computer room. Gourmet a la carte dining is available in the main dining room or on the verandas.
Amenities include two Astroturf tennis courts, an infinity swimming pool with spa and a fully equipped fitness centre. Kauri Cliffs has three secluded swimming beaches, which are also available for picnics and barbeques.
The Spa
The spa is nestled at the edge of a Totara Forest and overlooks a verdant Fern Glen and Winding Stream. Each Treatment room is equipped with a shower and changing area, has floor to ceiling views and opens into a private outdoor space where guests can enjoy garden inspired treatments al fresco and fireside.
Choose from a variety of massages, body, water, and skin, nail treatments as well as hair care.
Comfortable mens and ladies locker rooms, sauna, jacuzzi spa pool and 100 foot heated indoor lap pool are for your pleasure - as is a state of the art fitness centre with a full spectrum of excercise equipment and free weights.
Gourmet a la carte dining is available in the main dining room or on the verandas.
Breakfast
Breakfast is a buffet of local and imported fruits, home-made muesli and cereals, yoghurts and freshly baked muffins. In addition, a hot menu featuring eggs, pancakes, crisp bacon, ham, sausages and ricotta hotcakes may be ordered.
Lunch
A formal three-course lunch is available. Alternatively, there are a variety of sandwiches, salads and desserts to choose from.
Picnics
Wonderful picnic sites abound on the property. We have three secluded beaches, several waterfalls and stands of magnificent bush. A choice of delicious picnic lunches is available.
Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour is an excellent time to meet fellow guests. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and a wide range of wines, beer and spirits are available.
Dinner
Our dinner menu changes nightly and features local produce and seafood. The finest New Zealand Beef & Lamb are served. Executive Chef Barry Frith oversees the culinary team and Pastry chef Quentin Sere is a master of exotic and tempting desserts.
Dinner Attire
Gentlemen are required to wear jackets during cocktails and dinner. Jackets are available to borrow. Room service and private dining are available.
