Claremont luxury suites, villas and family cottage accommodation
All accommodation features superbly comfortable beds, feather duvets, classical cotton linen, modern and romantic mood lighting, full central heating, sophisticated stereo, direct dial phones with free local calls. Other touches include fresh flowers, fresh fruit bowl, as well as coffee and tea making facilities. Your accommodation is serviced daily and all the ingredients for a good breakfast are provided.
Both the Claremont Luxury Suite/Garden Villa and the Owners Retreat Villa have luxurious bathrooms with a two-person spa bath and separate stall showers. These bathrooms are beautifully tiled and have large demist mirrors with theatrical lighting, heated towel rails and international shaver sockets. Thick towels, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers and complimentary toiletries are all provided.
The Fountain Suite

The Claremont Luxury Suite, Lily Suite or Garden Villa
This accommodation is within a recently constructed wing to the heritage homestead and has its own private separate entrance.
The Claremont Luxury Suite, on the upper floor, is spacious and self-contained. There is an open plan living/dining/kitchenette, a spacious bedroom with separate dressing room and en-suite bathroom. The Lily Suite is on the ground floor and has direct garden access with views to Mount Brown. It has a small private sitting room, with an ensuite bathroom. Read more here >>
The Garden Villa provides a beautifully appointed 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self-contained, two story Villa that is a spacious 124 sq m in overall floor area. This is ideal accommodation for two couples traveling together. It is equally suited to a couple traveling with two mature children.
The Lodge does not accommodate children under 14 yrs of age within the Suites or Villa.
The Owners Retreat luxury Villa
This secluded and spacious 2 bedroom country Villa, set in the heart of the Claremont Estate, is a very private and tranquil sanctuary. The Villa has its own private garden with stunning views to the Deans and Mt Brown and distant views across the Waipara vineyards to distant Mt Cass. There are wide shady verandas and a large covered terrace. It is fully heated and air-conditioned. This Villa is ideal for two couples traveling together or for those couples with mature children. It is not available for Children under 14yrs of age.
The Claremont Family Cottage
This recently constructed award winning heritage cottage is child-friendly with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is situated near the original Claremont heritage homestead yet is screened off by a small mature wood lot. It has stunning views down the Waipara river valley and to Mt Brown and distant views across the Waipara valley to Mt Cass, shady verandas and its own courtyard with a large private garden. The Family Cottage is fully heated and air-conditioned and has easy care wood floors with oriental rugs in the living area and fully carpeted bedrooms. It was designed specifically for families travelling with younger children.
Our tariff includes breakfast. As well, a range of evening dining experiences to suit your tastes are available.
Breakfast
This is included in your rate. For those staying in the Claremont Garden luxury suite, Lily Garden Suite and Fountain Homestead suite a full breakfast is served in the conservatory dining room. For those staying in the Owners Retreat Villa or The Claremont Family Cottage all breakfast provisions are provided in your accommodation.

Supper platter
By prior arrangement on-site we can provide a light evening meal consisting of an attractive and tasty antipasto platter with cold meats, cheeses, olives, seasonal salads and pickles served with delicious locally baked Rachel Scott Ciabatta bread accompanied by a bottle of fine local Waipara wine. – Choose from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling or a local Waipara red. This is available strictly by prior arrangement to guests in all accommodation.
Claremont Table three course d’hote menu.
For those guests who are looking for a complete dining experience we offer a 3-course Claremont table d’hote dinner at the multiple award-winning Nor’wester restaurant located nearby in Amberley. There is a choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts. This is accompanied by two complimentary glasses of Waipara house wine per person. Bookings are essential but these can be made same day.
Chefs in-house fine dining
In house fine dining is available by prior arrangement for groups of 4 or more people and menus can be tailored according to your preference. An excellent local chef (who has cooked for English Royalty) will prepare and serve you a three course dinner in the Claremont dining room or in your Villa or Cottage.
Activities at Claremont Country Estate luxury lodge
Guests say a single night is not enough to take advantage of the lodge facilities and the many and varied attractions here on your doorstep on the Estate, including our optional Land Rover Safari, fishing, horse riding, river swimming etc.

Claremont Estate is a really great place to use as a hub or base for your Canterbury experience. We are less than an hours drive to Christchurch City centre, yet only an hour and a half scenic drive to Kaikoura and whale watching, and about 50 minutes' drive to Hanmer Springs spa and thermal pools. Some of the world's renowned golf courses, trout and salmon fishing rivers and hunting are within an easy drive of Claremont Estate.
