Highlights & Inclusions
Greenhill Lodge offers three styles of luxury accommodation. It offers two King suites with a private sitting room, open fires and twin bathrooms and three King rooms each with private ensuite. A seperate two bedroom Villa Suite is also available.
Villa Suite
This suite is located separate from the main lodge, giving an extra degree of privacy perfect for honeymooners. The suite has two bedrooms one with ensuite as well as a second bathroom. There is an extensive deck with expansive rural views, feature fireplace and even an outdoor bath for adventurous romantics.
McLean Suite
This is the premium suite located in the lodge itself. The suite has a bedroom with King sized bed, private sitting room and twin bathrooms. A magnificent French door affords access to the verandah and the garden beyond.
Verandah Suite
The Verandah Suite offers space and privacy. It is accessed from an external verandah, is close to the pool area and apart from the main lodge rooms. The suite has a comfortable seating area, then steps up to a king or twin bedroom, dressing room and expansive ensuite bathroom.
Sollitt Room
This King Room has a bedroom with a King sized bed and a luxurious private ensuite. French doors afford access to a garden courtyard.
Lyons Room
This King room is set up with two King singles beds, which when required can be zipped to revert to a King sized bed. The room has a luxurious private ensuite and French doors to access a garden courtyard.
Hudson Room
This King room was once used by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother when she stayed at Greenhill. The room has a King sized bed, luxurious private ensuite and French doors which lead to the verandah and the garden beyond.
Greenhill Lodge offers guests a great deal of space in which to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside in the heart of Hawke's Bay wine country. The viewing turret is three stories high; guests may climb to the turret that sports a small sitting room complete with viewing telescope. A floor to ceiling window lifts up to provide egress to a balcony that affords a panoramic view of the Hawke's Bay countryside and at night the lights of the Bay cities.
The Billiard Room with its elegant wood panelling is furnished in grand style complete with a full size table. In this room you can also enjoy a small library of New Zealand books or catch up with business, family or friends at home on the Internet.
The old stables of the homestead have been converted into a gymnasium. This room affords a view of the hills which stretches for miles and takes in a Hawke's Bay landmark, distinctive Te Mata Peak. Guests may also enjoy an outdoor recreational area which incorporates a swimming pool, log fireplace and seating for guests to relax.
Dinner
The dining experience at Greenhill Lodge commences with pre dinner drinks and canapes followed by a table d'hote meal of four courses. The cuisine style features local seasonal produce acquired from the markets or the gardens at Greenhill and then transformed by the chefs to complement the award winning Hawke's Bay wines.
They offer guests a choice of private dining, alfresco dining or the lodge option of joining other guests in the grand, majestic dining room. Dining at Greenhill is exclusive to lodge guests so that you have the complete attention of its staff.
Canapes are served in the guests' sitting room or out on the terrace from 6.30pm and the dinner service usually commences at 7.30pm. A light dinner option is also available.
Lunch
An informal lunch is available on request for guests who arrive early or choose to have a day of rest at the lodge. Gourmet picnic lunches can also be arranged.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the breakfast room or, on sunny mornings, under an umbrella on the outdoor terrace.
There is a choice of a cooked or continental style breakfast.
About Greenhill's Chefs
This season the Lodge two young and energetic chefs who are twin brothers. They both started their culinary training in Northern Scotland at the Royal Highland Hotel. Having completed their apprenticeship they worked throughout England at a variety of fine dining and award winning restaurants gathering experience. Before emigrating to New Zealand their last port of call was The Old Government House Hotel in Guernsey which offered 2 AA Rosette and Michelin-starred cuisine.
