This is a fabulous city and for most will be your entry point. A good start and the ideal place to acclimatise to the new time zone. Plenty to see and do and you could easily spend a week here, although that would be unlikely.

New Zealand's capital city, Wellington, is on the doorstep of so much outdooriness, activity, mountains and coastal resorts. It is a great spot as well as the conduit between North and South Island. A great base from which to explore, why doesn't every country have its capital in the middle?
